Kaveh Dehghanian | Assistant Professor
Department of Civil Engineering, Istanbul Aydin University
He joined the Istanbul Aydin University as a faculty member in 2017 after receiving a Ph.D. degree in computational mechanics from Middle East Technical University, Engineering Sciences department in 2016. During his Ph.D. research, he focused on “Estimation of Maximum Seismic Shear Strain in Imperforated Ground Excited by Vertically Propagating Shear Waves”. He proposed two semi-empirical relationships for calculation of ovaling and racking deformations of tunnels. In his master thesis, he investigated “The Equivalency Assessment of Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) and Compacted Clay Liner (CCL) in an Engineered Landfill”. His current research interests concentrate on soil improvement methods, empirical correlations in soil dynamics, and investigation of liquefaction potential under seismic waves.
