Dr. Robin Fetherston teaches writing and literature at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar. In 2003, she founded the VCUQatar School-wide Reading Program, the nation’s first institution-wide reading program and coordinated it for the next thirteen years.
She also served a number of years as a co-coordinator of The Education City Liberal Arts & Social Sciences Research Forum (now called Qatar Faculty Forum), the first conference type platform for faculty members from the original six American universities located in Doha. In 2008, Fetherston became her university’s first recipient of the Distinguished Achievement in Teaching Award, and in 2011 was appointed as a Qatar Foundation Achiever by Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser. She currently serves on the Scientific Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean Academic Research Center (DAKAM) in Instanbul. Her nonfiction has been published in the U.S. and Arabian Gulf, and both her nonfiction and fiction have appeared in international journals and books.
